Dumbbell Tricep Extensions are a Great Tricep Exercise to Tone Flabby Arms or Build Rock Solid Arm Muscles
Dumbbell Tricep Extensions are a good triceps exercise. If you're read other pages you know that all arm exercises are good for both men and women. If your goal is to tone flabby arms, pick a weight that you can do 8-15 times and perform 1-3 sets. If your goal is to build slabs of lean muscle, pick a weight that is challenging between 4-12 repetitions and perform 3-5 sets. Starting Position: Begin by lying on a bench or floor if you're working out at home. Extend your arms straight in the air and keep them at shoulders width. Form: Inhale and slowly bend your elbows so that the weight moves towards the floor. Pause for a brief second and them exhale and extend and straighten your arms. Personal Trainer Tips: In this triceps exercise, it is important to keep your shoulders steady. Only your elbow should be moving during this exercise. Begin with a light weight if you are a beginner because you will find that your arms will be all over the place trying to stabilize the weight. I know this is a stupid tip, but don't let the weights smack you in the face. :-) Yours in Health, Dr. Charles PT/PT Return to the Main Triceps Exercises Page from Tricep Extensions Or visit my Abdominal Exercises Website to Learn the Best Ab, Core, and Stomach Exercises
