Best Chest Exercises With Resistance Bands

This site has pictures of many of the best chest exercises with resistance bands. This page has pictures of the chest press with a resistance band.

Resistance Bands offer a different workout than dumbbells, barbells, machines, cables or body weight exercises, and they are very portable. So, you can use them at home, at a park, or take them traveling with you.

In order to work different muscles, you simply have to rearrange your body position so that the resistance pulls on the muscles you want to target.

Here are pictures for the neutral grip chest press with resistance bands.

Neutral Grip Chest Press

Starting Position: Hook the resistance band or tubing around a stationary object. Stand with you back facing away from where the resistance band is anchored and hold the handles so that the band runs underneath your arms. Keep your palms facing each other.

Form: Exhale and press your arms straight in front of you, while keeping your shoulders at about 90 degrees (parallel to the floor). Hold for a brief second and then slowly let your arms move backwards to the starting position.

Personal Trainer Tips: During this exercise, you must be mindful of the position of your lower back and core. In this exercise the resistance band will have the tendency to pull you backwards, so your abdominals and core muscles will have to work much harder to keep you stable and upright.

You can further challenge your core muscles by varying your stance. In this picture a staggered stance is used with one leg in front of the other. This is the most stable stance position.

You can further challenge your stability, by standing with your feet parallel or by standing on one foot.

No matter which stance you choose, move in a slow and controlled manner.

Conclusion

Resistance Bands are great arm workout tools. You can work every upper body muscle with resistance bands.

In addition to resistance bands you can do chest exercises with dumbbells, barbells, or even your body weight. Learn more of the Best Chest Exercises.
